Based in an Old Fire Station in Bimingham, the PDA will be managed and operated by an experienced team.
Mark Koziol

Chairman
Mark has been a community pharmacy employee, a locum and also a pharmacy
owner. In 1987 he was a founder of PPLS International a locum agency and then in
1992, the Pharmacy Insurance Agency which now insures one in four pharmacists.
He has written and lectured extensively on the subjects of self employment, locum
issues and risk management both in the UK and overseas primarily in Australia and
New Zealand.
Mark is an advisor to Lloyds of London (the insurer) and is responsible for ensuring
that all of the PDA defence work is underwritten by specialist insurance. He has
been active in pharmacy politics since qualifying in 1984. He was a founder of the
Young Pharmacists' Group in 1985, and is currently the manager of the YPG
Pharmacy project. He was elected to the committee of the Community Pharmacists'
Group which was set up by the Society in 1994. He was then elected to the
Council
of the RPSGB in 1997 where he was appointed to the Law and Ethics and Practice
Committees. Mark is currently a member of the Pharmacy Workforce Group which
has been set up jointly by the RPSGB and the DOH in 2002 and he is a committee
member of SCOPE (Standing Committee on Postgraduate Pharmacy Education)
which has been established by the DOH.
John Murphy

Director
John qualified as a Pharmacist in 1975, and has spent the vast majority of his career
at Boots, where he performed pharmacy and retail operations roles at almost every
level of the organisation. Half of his career with Boots was spent in senior Head
Office roles that included Training and Development Manager for all 45,000 staff
overseeing the introduction of NVQs and an award winning Performance
Management Process. Under his stewardship Boots achieved the Investors In
People accreditation. He managed the resourcing and development of all 4,000
Boots pharmacists before moving on to develop his own consultancy specialising in
Performance Management and Management Development. Since September of
2002 he has been involved in the preparation for the launch of the PDA and is now
the General Manager. Because of this involvement, he has a complete
understanding of the needs and aspirations of the individual pharmacist and how the
PDA is best placed to meet them. Based in the office, he has experienced many
dealings with pharmacists and has learned first hand of the difficulties that face
employees and self-employed pharmacists when in dispute with their employer, a
claimant, the society or other regulators.
June Cluley
Administrator
June has worked as a PIA administrator since 1997 during which time she has been
involved in overseeing the issue of insurance documentation and in making sure that
all renewal procedures are undertaken in an accurate and timely manner.
