How do I join?

You can join in one of three ways:

  1. Join on-line using your credit card now
  2. Request an appropriate application form on-line which will be posted out to you.

  3. Call PDA on the General Enquiries telephone number 0121 694 7000 to discuss your membership application with a member of staff

    Please note postal or telephone applications will not receive the on-line discount.

The benefits of membership

The unique combination of Defence Association and solid insurance protection means that your interests will always be kept at the forefront by an organisation dedicated to defending your reputation. Two levels of membership

There are two levels of membership of the PDA, click here to compare what they each offer.

How much does it cost?

The cost of Standard membership is £49 per year, irrespective of your specific job/role. The cost of Full membership is higher as it provides considerably more benefits. As it also provides Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance it will depend on the risks associated with your specific role.

As an example, if you are a community pharmacy employee, the cost of Full membership can be as low as £121 per year; if you are a part-time pharmacist, the cost can be as low as £95 per year when the application is made on-line.

It is important that you have selected the right level of PI insurance as different jobs/roles in pharmacy carry with them varying levels of risk. We have provided a policy wizard, which will help you to ensure that you are covered for all of your activities; it will also provide you with a specific cost for your particular membership fee. On-line application discount
