Lloyds/Sainsbury’s enhanced redundancy claims update – April 2024

The PDA has issued an update for members who are former Sainsbury’s pharmacists taking legal proceedings against 'LloydsPharmacy' to secure an entitlement to enhanced redundancy payments. This update comes following the delayed preliminary hearing which was held on 2 April 2024.

PDA Ability Network releases initial findings from the disability discrimination survey

In February 2024, the PDA Ability Network launched its disability discrimination survey to establish the extent of discrimination faced in the workplace by pharmacists who are disabled or live with a long-term health condition. Initial findings show that there is a lot of work to be done to make workplaces more inclusive.

PDA continues to support the BPSA Annual Conference

The PDA was pleased to be involved in the Annual BPSA (British Pharmaceutical Students' Association) Conference for another year. This year the conference took place from 31 March to 7 April and was held at the University of East Anglia.

PDA to attend Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2024

This year, the PDA will be running two new sessions at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress (CPC). The sessions, titled ‘Stopping racism at the front line of pharmacy’ and ‘How to improve your T&Cs and protect your interests while working in GP practice’, have been designed to share knowledge and improve the working lives of pharmacists.

PDA donations to Pharmacist Support exceed £250,000

Every year the PDA donates £1 per member to the profession’s independent charity, Pharmacist Support. Since 2017, the PDA has committed to making this contribution on an ongoing basis to support the work of the charity and can reveal that these donations now exceed £250k.
