Many pharmacists are now involved in providing a wide range of consultancy services usually to other pharmacists, healthcare practitioners, healthcare organisations or businesses. In these situations the consultant may not only faces a medical malpractice risk but is also exposed to a commercial liability risk.
Where a pharmacist is exposed to any commercial liability, (ie businesses losses by the person to whom they are contracted) as a result of his or her activity, behaviour or advice this is the appropriate policy. This policy would also cover pharmacists who write for journals.
