Salary: £24,000 p/a (£40,000 FTE)
Contract Type: 22.5 hours per week standard (3 days per week)

The Education Officer will identify and understand the learning needs of PDA members, reps, officials and staff in relation to our organising and development aspirations. The successful candidate will help to ensure the delivery of a professional, up to date, relevant and value for money programme of training to PDA members, bringing to life our commitment to support their careers and engage them in union activity.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To undertake learning needs surveys to ascertain and understand the requirements of PDA members, reps, officials and staff
- To plan, develop and implement training courses, workshops and events for student and pre-registration trainees to develop them as pharmacists; to engage and activate them in the PDA and to enhance their membership retention
- To deliver the above courses and events for student and pre-registration trainee pharmacists, members and reps in person or by coordinating the delivery by others
- To liaise and manage positive working relationships with university pharmacy schools across the UK to enable the delivery of a suite of PDA lectures, workshops and our attendance at careers fayres and pharmacy appropriate events
- To organise weekend training courses/events for pre-registration pharmacists
- To liaise with and manage the contribution of other training providers to PDA courses and events
- To plan, develop and/or deliver training to other PDA members which engages, activates and retains their membership
- To liaise with other members of the department to agree training provision for PDA members, Regional Committees, Student network, NAWP and other PDA networks
