What to expect

PDA sponsor the Women in Pharmacy leadership session
Taking place in the Leadership Theatre on Saturday 8 June between 12.15 and 1pm, this Women in Pharmacy Lunch Symposium will focus on the barriers to engagement and what can be done to get more women involved in pharmacy leadership at every level. This panel discussion brings together leading women from a variety of backgrounds within the sector. Join us for another thought-provoking session chaired by Claire Ward, PDA Director of Public Affairs, which looks at what, if anything has changed in the sector, and what can be further improved.
PDA lead a GP Practice Pharmacy session in the Primary Care Theatre
Join Alima Batchelor, PDA Head of Policy and Liz Brooke, PDA Primary Care Pharmacist, on Friday 7 June between 3.35 and 4.05pm in the Primary Care Theatre where they will be leading a session entitled ‘GP Practice Pharmacy, everything you need to know about safer practice, but were too afraid to ask’.
GP Practice Pharmacy is already an attractive option and with the recent announcements showing commitment to significant, sustained investment, and thousands of new roles planned, this is clearly set to be a rapidly growing new sector. Safe and appropriate practice is crucial if patients and other clinicians are to accept and embed this role. In this session we will focus on sharing our expertise to help you consider ways to practice more safely and, using real examples, share some key insights on potential pitfalls.
PDA lead a State Backed Indemnity Session in the Primary Care Theatre
There’s been much talk about the long-anticipated state backed indemnity scheme, and the lack of detail has made it difficult to know what the real benefit of it may be, and more importantly whether it will actually provide adequate cover to protect practitioners. On Saturday 8 June between 11.45am and 12.15pm, Mark Koziol, PDA Chairman, will be in the Primary Care Theatre to lead a session entitled ‘Let’s talk about Indemnity, what do you really need to know?’.
