The Pharmacy Show: 17 – 18 October 2021

The Pharmacy Show takes place over two days at the NEC in Birmingham and is a major gathering for pharmacy professionals. The show is made up of education and networking opportunities. The PDA is running two sessions at the Pharmacy Show this year; 'Women in Pharmacy' and 'Delivering race equality in Pharmacy'.

Claire Ward

Director of Public Affairs, PDA

Former MP and Government minister (1997 – 2010). After leaving Parliament, Claire was the CEO of the Independent Pharmacy Federation and Chair of Pharmacy Voice. In addition to her role at the PDA, Claire is Chair of Sherwood Forest NHS Foundation Trust and undertakes a number of other consultancy roles outside of the healthcare sector.

Shikha Rishi

Independent Prescribing Pharmacist

After qualifying as a pharmacist in 2008 Shikha has worked in a number of pharmacies for ten years. In 2018 Shikha wanted to take another direction in her career and connect her pharmacy skills with her passion for health and beauty. Shikha then trained in a variety of aesthetic and wellness treatments and opened her very own clinic ‘Elegant Beauty Clinic’. Elegant Beauty Clinic specialises in aesthetics, skin, health, travel and hair loss. What is so unique about Shikha and Elegant Beauty Clinic is the pharmaceutical and medical knowledge Shikha can give to her patients.

Now in 2021 Shikha works from 4 different clinic locations offering her treatments and has her very own super clinic in the heart of Canford Cliffs with a team of 4 aesthetic practitioners and beauty therapists.

Yogita Dawda

Clinical Lead for Mental Health Pharmacy, CNWL

Yogita is the Clinical Lead for Mental Health Pharmacy at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) with over 18 years’ experience in mental health. Yogita lectures at Aston University for the Independent Prescribing course and is an external assessor for their Psychiatric Pharmacy course. Yogita also acts as a QNWA peer reviewer for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is on the panel of professional experts for Rethink Mental Illness Charity advice service.

Yogita has had several publications in pharmacy journals. Yogita was a member of the Department of Health Physical Health, Mental Health working group and co-developer of two resources to support mental health nurses take positive actions to improve patients’ physical health and reduce the unwanted variation highlighted in The Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.
