PDA Raises Issues with Employer PI Insurance

The PDA raised issues with employer-provided PI insurance and Contingent Medical Malpractice insurance within its response to a recent GPhC consultation. We point out that these may not provide the assurances that the GPhC and the public are looking for.

The GPhC wants to implement the statutory requirements to have an appropriate indemnity arrangement in force and to have the knowledge of English necessary for safe and effective practice, as a condition of registration.

The PDA responded to the GPhC consultation on the matter, highlighting important issues with employer-provided PI Insurance and Contingent Medical Malpractice insurance (used by some other providers).
