PDA responds to PSNI consultation on staffing levels

The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) recently consulted on its draft guidance for pharmacy staffing levels which sets out to explain what pharmacy owners and superintendents must do to ensure that each pharmacy has enough skilled and qualified staff. This includes having an appropriate skill mix, to provide safe and effective pharmacy services which comply with the standards.

PDA responds to the Department of Health and Social Care consultation ‘Hub and spoke dispensing’

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) recently consulted on its proposals for ‘Hub and spoke dispensing.’ This is the second attempt by the DHSC to consult on proposed changes to the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and The Medicines Act 1968 to facilitate hub and spoke dispensing between parties that belong to separate legal entities.

PDA LGBT+ Network responds to government consultation on conversion therapy

The government has committed to banning so-called conversion therapy, a practice in which attempts are made to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of an LGBT+ person.

PDA signs joint letter to government on prescription charge increase proposal

The PDA has joined with health charities, the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the British Geriatrics Society to issue an open letter, urging the Government to rethink its proposal to raise the qualifying age for free prescriptions in England from 60 to 66.
