A pharmacist with more than 25 years’ experience, Jay joins the PDA from his role as Managing Director of Whitworth Chemists and Vice Chair of the National Pharmacy Association, bringing with him his extensive knowledge of pharmacy practice and organisational leadership.
The PDA created this new position in response to its growing membership and the increasing need to influence the evolving healthcare landscape, at a time of very significant change and challenge for pharmacists at the frontline.

He is well-known and familiar with the workings of the NHS, government, and the pharmacy political landscape. By creating a new position, that of Director of Pharmacy, the PDA shows its commitment to pharmacy and underpins its leadership credentials as it advocates for the highest standards of pharmacy practice whilst casting a light on the current working environments for pharmacists.
This move helps the PDA to stay at the forefront of advancements in pharmacy and ensure that the hopes, fears and aspirations of its members are properly represented so that they can influence and then meet the evolving needs of the healthcare landscape.
