The STUC’s LGBT+ Workers Conference discussed key issues affecting LGBT+ workers in Scotland, including, LGBT+ discrimination in the workplace, the global rise of LGBT+ hate, reforming gender identity clinics, and ending sexual harassment.
PDA LGBT+ Network members also had the opportunity at the conference to share the successes of the network’s LGBT+ MPharm campaign. So far, the campaign has written to the GPhC and PhSC on more inclusion of LGBT+ education in the MPharm programme, collaborated with students in each pharmacy school, and launched a range of resources to support LGBT+ inclusive education.

Stelios Michailidis
Locum pharmacist and a PDA LGBT+ Network member
Stelios is a locum pharmacist working in Scotland with a passion for serving the community and safeguarding adequate and fair access to medicine. Stelios previously served as a military pharmacist in the UK army both in military camps and military hospitals. Stelios is also the owner of the first healthy living pharmacy in Greece, which was established in 2018 and, where zero plastic waste is used.

David McMullan
Senior Informatics Pharmacist for EMIS Health and a PDA LGBT+ Network member
David is currently working as a Senior Informatics Pharmacist for EMIS Health which is a clinical software provider. Prior to this, David’s background was predominantly in community pharmacy, having worked in a variety of positions across the central belt of Scotland, as well as in Jersey. David also has a few years of experience in the private healthcare sector.
