Michal Lamparski, PDA Rep at Royal Devon University NHS Foundation Trust, and Jyoti Saini, PDA Rep at the Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB), talked about the work they have done as reps. Michal discussed how he set up a WhatsApp group to communicate with members and enable discussion and support. Jyoti talked about how she gained union recognition for the PDA in her ICB. Jyoti also discussed how she got the PDA on the Joint Negotiating Consultative Committee (JNCC) in her ICB and the presentations she has done on wellbeing using the PDA’s ‘It’s Time to Address Stress’ factsheet.
Kev Frost, PDA Rep at Airedale NHS Trust said, “We all want what is best for our patients and our workplaces. It was great learning what experienced reps have contributed to their organisations to enable pharmacists to maximise their contribution to patient care, so that as PDA members we can enhance the positivity of working environments across the directly employed NHS sectors.”
Liz Larkin, PDA Organiser said, “We have around 7000 members working in the NHS. It’s great that our members are stepping forward to become reps and representing pharmacists in their workplaces. The PDA Reps Network in the NHS is a great opportunity to meet other reps, share experiences and ideas, and support each other.”
Those who would like more information about the network or are interested in becoming a PDA NHS Rep can contact Liz Larkin by emailing liz.larkin@pda-union.org.
