For the past several months, the DHSC has worked closely with representatives of the pharmacy sector to release its pharmacy supervision consultation. The consultation proposes multiple changes which would lead the way for transformational improvements in pharmacy practice. While these changes are broadly a good starting point, it’s crucial that new regulations and professional guidance provide further clarity on how supervision will work in a modernised community pharmacy practice landscape.
The events will ensure members are sufficiently aware of the consultation proposals and the impact that these changes will have. Each hour-long session will cover:
- What the supervision consultation is about
- What it could mean in practice
- The PDA’s position
- How to ensure members’ voices and views are heard.
The PDA will host the event on three different dates so that more members have the opportunity to attend. The content of sessions will be the same, so members will only need to attend one session. The dates and times of the event can be found below.
- Monday 22 January – 7 pm – 8 pm
- Wednesday 24 January – 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm
- Thursday 1 February – 7 pm – 8 pm
PDA members can register for a session here.

The work of the PDA is informed by the views and the interests of members. There are many ways for PDA members to get involved and share their opinions and experiences. Whether that be through the PDA Reps Networks, PDA Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Networks, Member Voice articles, or by responding to PDA surveys that seek the views of members.
