Daniela Rusalim, Pharmacist, IP and PDA Union Rep said:

“I am delighted to take part in the Pharmacy Show Webinar because it is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the work and achievements of the Pharmacists’ Defence Association’s four Equality Networks: the National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP), the BAME, LGBT and Ability Network. Through my presentation, I am hoping to inspire colleagues to join us and help advance our rights and support the creation of a more equal, diverse and inclusive work environment.”

Hala Jawad, Pharmacist and PDA Regional Committee Member said:

“I’ve been a member of the PDA since I was a pre-reg. This year I have been elected to the PDA Union Regional Committee in the South, during the pandemic. Health & Safety guidance and campaigns have been vital to supporting pharmacists and I thought I needed to share my views. It’s essential for pharmacists to have the support of a union and to have reps who can give members a voice at work”.

Siddiqur Rahman, Primary Care Pharmacist and PDA Union Regional Committee Member said:

“I am so proud to be elected to the Regional Committee in the primary care sector for the PDA Union South region this year. I wanted to participate in this on-demand webinar to share important information during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the key questions I get from primary care pharmacists is why indemnity insurance is important to primary care pharmacists; I’m also often asked to explain why pharmacists should join the union. I hope the webinar has helped with that understanding for pharmacists in whichever sector you work in.”

Tohidul Islam, PDA Union Regional Committee Member and locum pharmacist said:

“As a PDA Union Rep for locum pharmacists in the North region and through my locum support network The Pharmacist Co-operative, I wanted to be part of the PDA Union webinar to highlight that there is support available for locums, being an important part of the pharmacy workforce and that their rights and issues are just as important. Together by joining the PDA, the voices of locums will be heard stronger than ever before.”
