Applications are now open for the Welsh Pharmacy Awards 2021

The entry process for the 2021 Welsh Pharmacy Awards is now open and the PDA encourages members in Wales to get involved, to self nominate or to nominate others.

Fri 25th June 2021 The PDA

The Welsh Pharmacy Awards evening will take place this year on Wednesday 13 October 2021 at the Vale resort in Glamorgan. The annual event recognises the pharmacy sector’s emerging talent, as well as the services delivered by pharmacists year after year. The PDA is pleased to sponsor the Student Leadership Award for another year and believes that the pharmacy profession can only thrive if strong leaders are driving its course.

Below are the categories for the 2021 awards:

  • Pharmacy Student Leadership
  • Business Development of the Year
  • Hospital Pharmacy Team of the Year
  • Management of Substance Dependency in the Community
  • Innovations in Service Delivery in Community Pharmacy (Independent)
  • Independent Community Pharmacist of the Year
  • Innovative Technology Project of the Year
  • Excellence in Delivering Self-Care Agenda in Community Pharmacy
  • Independent Community Pharmacy Practice of the Year
  • Patient Safety Development in Secondary Care

Members who are eligible and feel that they have the right qualities for any of the above categories, or who wish to nominate someone else can learn more and nominate here. The deadline for applications is 7 July 2021.

Each year the PDA sponsors the Student Leadership category of the Welsh, Scottish and Northern Ireland Pharmacy Awards. Last year’s Student Leadership Award winner Dafydd Rizzo, supported first-year students at the start of their academic year, organised an Initiation Social and as the chairman of the Welsh Pharmaceutical Students Association (WPSA) helped to raise £3,702.63 for the nominated charity, Life for African Mothers. A full list of all the 2020 winners can be found here.
