Pharmacist racially harassed by pharmacy team members

Following a 5-day hearing earlier this year, an Employment Tribunal has upheld 7 allegations of harassment related to race occurring during a shift on 18 July 2020 in a claim issued against Boots and one of its pharmacy technicians. The Tribunal concluded that the treatment of the pharmacist by the pharmacy technician, a pharmacy advisor and the store manager was significantly influenced by (and therefore related to) the pharmacist’s race.

PDA members raise concerns of Covid-positive staff being pressured to still attend work

The PDA is reminding Responsible Pharmacists (RP) that they play an essential role in deciding what is safe for patients and colleagues in the pharmacy, when faced with staff members at work who have tested positive for Covid-19.

REMINDER: Have your say on proposals to enable pharmacy technicians to supply and administer medicines under PGDs

The Department of Health and Social Care is consulting on proposals for the use of PGDs (Patient Group Directions) by Pharmacy Technicians. PDA members are encouraged to individually respond to the consultation before 29 September 2023.

Former Sainsbury’s employees to commence legal proceedings against LloydsPharmacy
