Building and maintaining positive, healthy, and supportive relationships at work makes people happier and healthier. The GPhC, in their guidance on ensuring a safe and effective pharmacy team, and the PSNI principle 4 both acknowledge that good communication builds respect and confidence, which are at the heart of effective working relationships with patients, service users, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

This course will explore how to build and maintain these crucial relationships, by discussing areas such as:

  • What good working relationships look like.
  • Understanding communication skills better.
  • Dealing with tricky behaviour.
  • Analysing strategies that build trust and good communications.

There will also be opportunities to practise critical reflection and build a portfolio that can be used as part of members’ professional development.
