PDA strengthens trade union team

The PDA has appointed Collette Bradford, former Director of Organising at the National Education Union, as a new Head of Organising and Engagement. This new senior appointment brings further trade union leadership experience to the PDA’s senior team.

“I’m really excited to join the PDA at this time of growth. Significant developments such as the recognition at Boots and the plans with NAWP have launched a new chapter in PDA’s activity where members can do more and get more through their membership. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team building these structures and union capacity. I’ve already seen for myself some of the challenges that pharmacists face and can see the importance of the PDA organising, representing and defending members at work. I’m looking forward to making a positive difference for Pharmacists and helping to develop a stronger PDA.”

In October, the PDA Union secured the first-ever negotiated pay settlement for Boots pharmacists and pre-registration trainees. We now want to hear feedback so that we can begin to prepare the 2020 pay claim. If you are a member of the bargaining unit at Boots, please help us to help you by completing the survey and encouraging other colleagues in the bargaining unit to complete it too – whether or not they are PDAU members.
