Anne Davies, a pharmacist within Boots for over 30 years in a variety of roles, currently as a relief pharmacist in South Wales, has been elected as the final member of the PDA Union’s governing body for 2023-2028. Anne is already an experienced member of the PDA Wales and West Regional Committee and one of the founding members of the PDA network within Boots.
Anne was elected via a postal ballot of the nearly 9,000 members in the PDA’s Wales and West England region, with a 6.81% turnout*.
*As part of the government’s anti-trade union laws, designed to frustrate union effectiveness, trade unions such as the PDA are prevented from using electronic voting in NEC elections, which if allowed would almost certainly increase participation in such ballots. The environmental impact of having to print and post almost 9,000 ballot packs, in just one of the PDA’s four regions, is another reason why the PDA continue to call upon the trade union regulator to allow electronic voting in future.
All NEC now in place for 2023-2028
