Member Networks

The PDA was created by pharmacists for pharmacists and we continue to exist for pharmacists.  A significant way that pharmacists can get involved or engage with our work is through members networks.

Our regional committees bring members from a particular geographical area together and their sector groups connect members from parts of the profession: hospital, locum, community and primary care.  However, we recognise that it is often other characteristics that can bring groups of pharmacists together.

PDA member networks began with our student members and we encourage members at each pharmacy school to have a student representative who can be part of the national network.  The views of student members and the issues of concern to them are of importance both because they are the profession of tomorrow and because they already matter today.  We defend the reputation and represent the interests of pharmacy students as well as helping them develop into health professionals and trade unionists.

In 2020, the National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) ended it’s 114th year of enabling all women pharmacists to realise their full potential and raise their profile by being educationally, socially and politically active by becoming part of the PDA and NAWP became our first Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) network.

We encourage all PDA members to get involved in the networks that are of interest to them.
