PDA Ability Network invites nominations for upcoming elections

The PDA Ability Network has grown substantially over the last couple of years and is now running an election for three officers to lead the network.

The three positions available are, President, Vice-President, and Honorary Secretary. Further details about the roles can be found below.

President

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaise with PDA staff to plan and deliver an annual programme of activity
  • Chair virtual and in-person meetings of the network
  • Keep up to date with issues of interest to disabled pharmacists
  • Represent the network at external meetings
  • Be the principal spokesperson for the PDA Ability Network, giving interviews and being quoted in communications as required
  • Be a member of the PDA Equalities Council
  • Serve as the ‘Immediate Past President’ for two further years following their period of presidential office.

Vice-President

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the work of the President
  • Deputise for the President where necessary
  • Keep up to date with issues of interest to disabled pharmacists.

Honorary Secretary

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure meetings are effectively organised and minuted
  • Share a copy of the agenda and minutes with the PDA’s Organising Assistant within two weeks after a meeting has taken place
  • Liaise with appropriate members of PDA staff to ensure the effective administration of the network
  • Keep up to date with issues of interest to disabled pharmacists.

These roles are voluntary and have a two-year fixed term. Only PDA Ability Network members can apply for these positions. Those wishing may apply for more than one of the advertised roles but can only be elected to one of the positions. Nominations must not already be officers of another PDA Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Network.

  • Year commenced practice/study
  • Qualifications
  • Previous/current positions held that you feel are relevant to the role (role title; employer/organisation/university; year started; year ended)
  • Supporting statement explaining which position/s you are nominating yourself for and why (up to 250 words)
  • A headshot photo for use in the election process and on the PDA website.
