PDA Ability Network launches disability discrimination survey

The PDA Ability Network is calling on members to complete an online survey on disability discrimination. The results will establish the level and extent of discrimination faced in the workplace by pharmacists who are disabled or live with a long-term health condition.

Tue 6th February 2024 The PDA

Anecdotally, members tell the PDA that they experience disability discrimination in a variety of ways, from offers of employment being withdrawn on discovery that the member is disabled to the employers refusing to provide reasonable adjustments. With one in five people in the UK being disabled[i], discrimination not only causes real distress, it means that a valued group of the workforce may find themselves not working should their employer not support them.

This survey gives the opportunity for members to anonymously share their experiences. Results will be used to inform a PDA Ability Network campaign to lobby employers to meet their obligations under the Equality Act to provide reasonable adjustments.

Members are being asked to complete the survey below by Tuesday 30 April 2024.
