Anecdotally, members tell the PDA that they experience disability discrimination in a variety of ways, from offers of employment being withdrawn on discovery that the member is disabled to the employers refusing to provide reasonable adjustments. With one in five people in the UK being disabled[i], discrimination not only causes real distress, it means that a valued group of the workforce may find themselves not working should their employer not support them.
This survey gives the opportunity for members to anonymously share their experiences. Results will be used to inform a PDA Ability Network campaign to lobby employers to meet their obligations under the Equality Act to provide reasonable adjustments.
Members are being asked to complete the survey below by Tuesday 30 April 2024.
Further information about the PDA Ability Network campaign will be announced shortly.
