The PDA had speakers at seven of the theatre sessions at this year’s Pharmacy Show and supported the EPhEU stand promoting the Medicines to Ukraine campaign. Many PDA members were also among the thousands of event attendees visiting a wide range of stands, and hearing talks about practice, the sector, careers, wellbeing and other associated topics as well as taking the opportunity to network with colleagues.
The PDA is the UK member of EPhEU who have campaigned to fundraise towards providing pharmacists in Ukrainian Hospitals with the medicines their patients need.
As the current Secretary General of EPhEU, PDA Chairman Mark Koziol has led the campaign and spoke about it at the Pharmacy Show.
Mark Koziol also participated in a panel discussion on supervision. The topic has been debated for many years, and should still be of significant interest to Pharmacists due to its potential impact on their practice.
Aneil Nath and Anjlee Shah, two of the PDA Union representatives at Lloyds Pharmacy, were the subject of a session on being a trade union representative as part of your career
PDA Director, Paul Day joined a wellbeing panel session as part of the PDA’s charity partners Pharmacists Support’s activity at the show.
The PDA LGBT+ Network’s President and Secretary, Scott Rutherford and Soh Xi Ken presented on LGBT+ inclusion in pharmacy.
Aneil Nath was also a panel member of a Chemist & Druggist session on careers.
Audio recordings of all Pharmacy Show theatre sessions will be available in approximately 6 weeks and the PDA will share links to the sessions at which we had speakers. Next year’s pharmacy show is back at the NEC, Birmingham on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October 2023 and the PDA will share details about the event in due course.
