PDA attends Parliamentary event to support Pharmacist Support well-being in pharmacy campaign

Earlier this month, Pharmacist Support hosted a joint parliamentary event with C+D to raise awareness of the growing pressures on community pharmacists and the impact this is having on Pharmacists’ well-being. The PDA was represented at the Parliamentary event and are proud to support this campaign.

The event, which took place on 9 September in the Houses of Parliament, was backed by all-party parliamentary group chair Sir Kevin Barron MP.

Data from C+D’s Salary Survey 2018 revealed that stress levels among UK pharmacists had risen by six percent over the previous years. Stress-related problems affecting C+D readers included: trouble sleeping, cited by 43% of pharmacists; depression (27%); drinking more than usual (11%); and suicidal thoughts (6%).
