This year, the annual campaign focuses on supporting culture change within the profession. The three weeks of the campaign will be split into the following categories:
- 18 – 24 October – Transforming workplace culture. Focusing on equality, diversity and inclusion.
- 25 – 31 October – Loneliness and professional isolation. Support for those who are experiencing feelings of loneliness and/or isolation in their personal or professional lives.
- 1 – 8 November – Physical health. Guidance and resources for understanding and prioritising physical health to aid mental wellbeing.
Pharmacists who would like to receive the resources and support on offer during these weeks can sign up to the ACTNow campaign here.
As the profession’s charity, Pharmacist Support champions the wellbeing of everyone working in and studying pharmacy. The charity encourages individuals and pharmacy teams to understand and prioritise their mental health and wellbeing.
The ACTNow campaign supports participants to:
- Allow time for wellbeing
- Consider the needs of others
- Take action
- Now!
This is the third ACTNow campaign of the year, with the others specifically supporting pharmacy students and trainee pharmacists.
Alongside the ACTNow campaigns, Pharmacist Support provides a wide variety of free and confidential support services to pharmacists and their families, pharmacy students, and former pharmacists in Great Britain. Each year, they provide thousands of acts of support.
Each year the PDA donates £1 per member to Pharmacist Support
The PDA donates £1 from the membership fee of each member to Pharmacist Support. In 2017, the PDA committed to making this contribution on an ongoing basis to support the work of the charity. In April 2024, this contribution totalled over £250,000 in donations.
As well as supporting the charity financially, the PDA works with Pharmacist Support to help pharmacists strengthen their working relationships with colleagues and managers. This gives pharmacists the opportunity to talk about their mental health openly, whilst ensuring they are aware of the support that is available to them if they are struggling.
This partnership also includes mental wellbeing workshops for pharmacy students that highlight practical tips on how to manage stress during the exam period, and how pharmacists can manage workplace stress.
