The government is asking for responses to the ‘Change NHS’ consultation’s initial questions to be submitted by 2 December and individual responses can be submitted by clicking here. The government also plans to release the 10-year health plan in Spring of 2025.
The consultation focuses on 3 big shifts in healthcare which are:
- Moving more care from hospitals to communities
- Making better use of technology in health and care
- Focussing on preventing sickness, not just treating it.
The government is also asking for those responding to share:
- Their views on the NHS and health and care
- What they feel is working well and what needs improving
- Their experiences
- Their ideas for improving health and care in the future.
A toolkit has been released as part of this consultation and this can be accessed by clicking here.
The PDA wants to make sure that all pharmacists are aware of this consultation and to encourage them to have their individual say on how the NHS can be improved and be better fit for the future.
The PDA will be also submitting its own organisational response based on its long-standing policies, for example, the PDA’s Road Map and Wider than Medicines. As part of this response, the PDA is asking members to share their views with them by emailing [email protected] by Friday 22 November 2024.
The PDA hopes that this consultation has a positive impact on the NHS and the working lives of all pharmacists.
