Provisional Registration allows those who meet the criteria set out by the regulator to practise as a responsible pharmacist. The PDA is urging employers to abide by the charter to ensure provisionally registered pharmacists are supported once again.

The Provisional Registration Charter will help those eligible for this new role to elevate their position at work and hold employers accountable. It will also provide greater development and working opportunities through the PDA’s negotiations, representations, recognition agreements, and challenges to employers and the GPhC.
There are 11 key principles of the charter that tackles key issues such as health and safety, pay, conditions of employment, and support and wellbeing.
Please note that provisional registration does not apply in Northern Ireland and is not available to those who may have failed previous assessment sittings.
