This year the PDA has received questions primarily around the volume and safe administration of flu and Covid-19 vaccines and the targets that some pharmacy owners and superintendent pharmacists are setting. In response to this the PDA has released updated guidance on flu and Covid-19 vaccination services.
Although this update does not provide detailed guidance around training, timelines, or the legal basis by which these vaccinations are administered it is primarily concerned with the role of the responsible pharmacist (RP), the role of the superintendent pharmacist (SP), and the pharmacy owner (owner) in relation to the safe and effective operations of the pharmacy.
