This week PDA Reps met at Quorn Grange to attend our one day Negotiating Skills training. The course was designed to bring Reps together to understand their current skills, learn from each others experiences and develop new ways of supporting PDA members in negotiations.
The reps had the opportunity to hone their negotiating skills with the PDA National Officer, Paul Moloney, working on case studies based on scenarios often faced by Pharmacists.
One of the Reps attending the course was Daniela Rusalim, Boots Rep for the Eastern Region and Vice President of the NAWP Committee. Daniela commented that she ‘enjoyed participating in the negotiation course and I learnt a lot from it. The content was high quality, well organised and very informative. The highlight of the course was taking part in a case scenario, where we all had to use our newly acquired knowledge and skills. The case was challenging and took us out of our comfort zone but it provided us with good learning opportunities. Encouragement for critical reflection was provided throughout the course, which helped consolidate the learning’
On the day reps were also raising money for Wear it Pink Day supporting the charity Breast Cancer now. Attendees donated to the charity and wore something pink to show their support. If you would like to show your support you can donate by visiting the official webpage here:
