The campaign invites pharmacists to simply take a photo of themselves making the letter “P” with their hands to symbolise pharmacists on the coronavirus frontline. Pharmacists should then tag the picture #pharmacyheroes and share it on social media. We invite those participating in the UK to also tag the PDA.
The idea behind the campaign is to raise the profile of our profession by showing a worldwide community of pharmacists who, in the face of a pandemic, regardless of danger and their own situation, have faced the fight against COVID-19 all over the world, while significantly relieving the healthcare system.
The campaign is organised by FIP – The International Pharmaceutical Federation which represents over 4 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. FIP is a non-governmental organisation that has been in official relations with the World Health Organisation since 1948.
EPhEU, of which PDA is the UK member, is a partner in the project which has been coordinated by EPhEU General Secretary, Dr Piotr Merks.
