A powerful advocate for fairness, justice and the professional independence of pharmacists, since its commencement in 2003, Joy Wingfield was until recently a PDA Senior Advisory Board member.
Little is perhaps known about the fact that Joy was also an important member of the group that in the 18 preceding months, planned the PDA’s birth and consequently, one of the individuals that can be thanked for its subsequent success.
As one of the UK’s leading figures in Pharmacy Law and Ethics, Joy’s support and direct involvement over many years in PDA casework helped to successfully defend members in many of the most difficult and professionally challenging situations.
Joy, a character blessed not just with astonishing wisdom and ability to distil right from wrong in the increasingly complex world of pharmacy practice was also a great person to be around.
Over twenty years Joy devoted a lot of energy and time to support the PDA and its members. We will miss her enormously.
