Revalidation

The PDA is keen to support our members to engage with the new revalidation requirements successfully. We believe that a workforce actively engaged in continual professional development is a workforce which will not only gain greater job satisfaction but will improve patient care and safety for the benefit of all.

Revalidation

As a representative organisation with 27,000 pharmacist members the PDA is keen to support our members to engage with the new revalidation requirements successfully. We believe that a workforce actively engaged in continual professional development is a workforce which will not only gain greater job satisfaction but will improve patient care and safety for the benefit of all.

Things to do before revalidation starts:

  1. Make sure that the GPhC has your correct contact details so that you receive relevant emails and letters.
  2. The previous CPD website uptodate.org.uk is now read only , but you can print or download your CPD entries as a pdf. However this MUST be done before 1 June 2018. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: Printing your cpd entries and saving them as a pdf
  3. Look out for a letter from GPhC containing a PIN code and instructions on how to set up your new account on the new MyGPhC website. Letters will be sent from April onwards and staggered according to renewal dates.

Revalidation requirements

The key source data and information can all be found on the GPhC website and we would encourage all members to go there first. There are videos, templates, examples of CPD entries, a copy of the Revalidation Framework, a revalidation timeline so that all members can find out deadlines for submission of documents and much more :

Further PDA support

We will aim to provide support and guidance to those members experiencing problems when working their way through the revalidation cycle in the same way that we support members experiencing employment, regulatory or clinical negligence issues.

Some items are still in production, so please check back here for developments:

  • Advice on revalidation concerns and problems provided by pharmacists: revalidation@the-pda.org
  • Peer-to-peer linking service (helping members to find peers with similar jobs and the right experience to support each other through peer discussion)
