Important Advice for PDA members at Rowlands

PDA members at Rowlands will be understandably concerned about their future after the company announced it would be putting 70 branches up for sale. PDA are offering high level advice immediately and asking members with specific concerns to contact us.

In these circumstances the impact of a sale may not be limited to just those working in the actual stores as  a reduction will also lead to changes to the resources needed to support the chain.  The removal or change of ownership of a pharmacy in an area can also have impacts on workload in other nearby pharmacies.

Reports of the sale have been shared through the pharmacy media today and we understand that pharmacists at Rowlands will want to know what happens to them if their branch closes or is sold to another owner.

We have attached two briefings, one about redundancy and one about transfer of ownership which we hope you may find helpful in answering general questions about what may possible happen.   Please read them to get a sense of what could happen.
