  The National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) says gender equality should continue to be treated as important and that there is no need for good employers to delay publishing their 2019/20 gender pay gap report until the new October enforcement deadline.

• PDA welcomes discussion on facts for the BAME community around Covid-19 vaccinations

  Later in the same week that the PDA launched our #getvaccinated campaign for pharmacists, the British Asian Trust hosted a seminar to discuss the Covid-19 vaccination programme and facts for the BAME community, attended by a PDA representative.

  The PDA are deeply saddened by the death of Professor Joy Wingfield from COVID-19. A powerful advocate for fairness, justice and the professional independence of pharmacists, Joy was one of the team who established the PDA. 

• LGBT+ History Month 2021

  In the UK, LGBT+ History Month is celebrated during the month of February in order to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 repeal of Section 28 in England and Wales, which declared that local authorities were not allowed to ‘intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality.’ Section 28 was abolished earlier in Scotland, in 2000.

• NAWP produces factsheet to mark Cervical Cancer Prevention Week 2021

  It is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (18 – 24 January 2021), an opportunity to raise awareness of the risks of cervical cancer and how these risks can be reduced in order to prevent the disease.

• PDA celebrates reaching over 1,500 members across four equality networks in the first year

  The PDA is celebrating reaching more than 1,500 memberships across the organisation’s four equality networks within the first year of their activity, demonstrating the importance to pharmacists of equality at work.
