VACCINATIONS: All vaccinations delivered by suitably trained pharmacists have always been covered by indemnity insurance as part of the standard PDA membership apart from Covid-19. For new membership renewals after January 1st, 2026, Covid-19 vaccinations are now also automatically covered.

    Following a special meeting of the PDA Union National Executive Committee (NEC) on Friday evening, the 2021 pay talks with Boots UK have been concluded. The agreed settlement will now be implemented ASAP.

  • Calling all pharmacists to help with the Covid-19 vaccination booster programme

    More than 5,000 members of the PDA are already significantly involved in the delivery of Covid-19 vaccinations and have been for some considerable time. However, some NHS officials have asked the PDA to help identify if there are any additional pharmacists who will consider joining the vaccination effort at this critical time. In response, the PDA is contacting members across the UK to establish a list of those additional pharmacists willing to participate.

    Last month the Scottish Pharmacy Awards returned after the 2020 awards were hosted online in response to Covid-19 restrictions. Scottish pharmacists came together in person at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow to celebrate their successes over the last year.
