Help raise the profile of community pharmacy funding in England

The PDA support the 38 Degrees petition, created by the NPA, that calls on the Westminster government to recompense pharmacies for the extra costs they have incurred by staying open to provide health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The petition now has almost 100,000 signatures, but needs more to make sure politicians and the general public know about this issue.

Third-year pharmacy students: Oriel applications are now open

Oriel applications are now open for third-year students in England, Scotland and Wales who wish to begin their training in July/August 2022. The application deadline is Wednesday 23 June 2021.

PDA members help pre-regs in the run up to the July 2021 assessment

Last week, three PDA members were guest speakers at an online PDA event that helped to support over sixty pre-regs due to sit the July assessment. The session, held exclusively for PDA members, saw Johnny Blatchford, Samuel Opoku and Abby Clarke share their experience of sitting the first online assessment in March 2021.

PDA publish salary ready reckoner for Boots pharmacists

“Transparency” is a underpinning principle of the PDA’s objectives for any pay system and the union has produced a “Ready Reckoner” tool to assist union members at Boots in understanding where their pay sits in comparison to "market rates".

PDA calls for rethink of decision to end free parking for NHS workers

The UK government has announced that it is ending a scheme for NHS workers which has provided free parking to those on duty during the COVID-19 emergency response period.

Registering for reasonable adjustments for the July 2021 assessment and adjustment appeals

The GPhC confirmed that the July 2021 assessment examinations will once again be delivered online through Pearson VUE, mainly at test centres in Great Britain.

PDA receives positive member feedback from the March 2021 assessment candidates

The PDA would like to congratulate those who passed the March 2021 assessment. Members have been continuously supported throughout the assessment process in a number of ways including receiving advice and guidance and being invited to take part in free PDA member revision assessment programmes. The PDA also called on employers to support staff sitting the assessment.
