PDA Reps Network in Boots

Meet the PDA Union reps that make our Network in Boots.

As the recognised independent trade union representing Boots store pharmacists, the PDAU has built a network of trained PDAU representatives. Supported by PDAU staff, the network are Boots pharmacists standing up for their colleagues. Here is the team:

Helen Lewis

PDAU Reps Network Co-ordinator (Boots), PDAU Regional Official (Wales and the West),

I qualified as a pharmacist in 1990 and worked for Boots for 27 years in various pharmacist, management, deployment and field roles. I now work as a community locum, trade union rep and PDA Union Regional Official for Wales and the West.

Nav Bhogal

South East Regional Representative

I’ve been a Boots pharmacist for 20 years and undertaken a variety of roles within the company in that time. I look forward to using that experience in my new role of PDAU Regional representative in both providing support and representing the views of pharmacists within my region.

Sukh Jandu

Regional Representative for Greater London South

I have worked in various roles in community pharmacy in the last 5 years and am currently a pharmacist store manager. This role has given me a valuable insight into the daily aspects of working life and I would like to use this to help bring about real improvement. I am looking forward to being a PDAU Regional representative and use that insight to support pharmacists and help facilitate positive changes for them which can only benefit their teams and the profession.

Mithul Shah

Regional Representative for Central London and Greater London North

Apart from some experience at the NPA, I’ve worked in community pharmacy for 13 years primarily with Boots. I understand the pressures faced by pharmacists in a busy corporate pharmacy on a daily basis. I am privileged to be able to use this platform as a PDAU Regional representative to provide support to pharmacists and help improve working conditions.

Hala Jawad

Regional Representative for Airports and Stations and London Divisional Representative

I have had a very varied pharmacy career in non-traditional roles but have also worked in both primary care and community pharmacy. I have been a PDAU member since graduation and although fairly new to Boots am confident I can use my wider experience to develop this new role. I am excited to use these experiences as a PDAU Regional and Divisional representative to support and represent my pharmacist colleagues and help bring positive change.

John Lester

West of England Regional Representative and Divisional Representative for the South

As a community pharmacist with over 30 years experience working for Boots in a variety of Head Office, field and store roles, I am thrilled to become a PDAU Regional and Divisional representative. I actively supported the campaign for PDAU recognition because I am passionate about ensuring pharmacists are treated in a fair and  professional manner. I look forward to positively supporting and representing my colleagues in this new role.

John Hamill

North of England Regional Representative

I’ve been a community pharmacist for 9 years and understand firsthand the concerns of patient facing pharmacists. I empathise with the pressures involved in meeting both patient and company expectations. I joined the PDAU because they are proactive in addressing these pressures and concerns. As a PDAU Regional representative I look forward to helping my pharmacist colleagues.

Nicola Rees

Regional Representative for the Midlands and Divisional Representative for the North

I have been a community pharmacist for over 20 years and a member of the PDAU since 2012. With the signing of the recognition agreement between the PDAU and Boots I see a great opportunity to improve our working environment and achieve a better future for the profession. As a PDAU Regional and Divisional representative I look forward to supporting and representing the views and concerns of Boots pharmacists going forward.

Ian Welford

Yorks and Lincs Regional Representative

I have a wealth of experience in pharmacy at Boots spanning over 30 years, 25 of those as a store manager. I have previously supported colleagues as an employment representative and with the support and training from the PDAU can help to ensure a fair voice for all in the future. I enjoy finding positive solutions for issues and want to help make a difference for our members.

Richard Evans

Regional Representative for Northern Ireland

I have been a pharmacist for 30 years, working in various small and large companies, primacy care and training so have a broad spectrum of professional experience. I see newly qualified pharmacists become disillusioned with the profession very early in their careers which makes me want to help reboot morale and the confidence of my colleagues. The PDAU looks after the interests of individual pharmacists and I am privileged to support that in this new Regional representative role.

Paul Flynn

West Scotland Regional Representative

I have been a store manager with Boots for 12 years. I have always been keen to support and help my colleagues in any way I can. As a PDAU Regional representative I now have the training and expert support to help me support pharmacist members more effectively within the new recognition agreement.

Jayesh Ladva

Regional Representative for the North West and West Yorkshire

I am currently an Advanced Practitioner Pharmacist, passionate about influencing best practice within Boots and the wider pharmacy world. Having worked in different sectors of pharmacy I have a good understanding of the challenges facing pharmacists. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be a PDAU regional representative, supporting Boots pharmacists and helping to raise and resolve issues locally.

Anne Davies

Regional Representative for Wales

I’ve worked for Boots for over 30 years in a range of pharmacist roles and am currently a relief pharmacist in South Wales covering a wide variety of stores over a large geographical area. I have been a member of the PDAU for many years, originally for indemnity and union benefits and latterly also as a member of the Wales and West regional committee. With the signing of the recognition agreement, I wanted to contribute to this positive new relationship and develop my role further to support my pharmacist colleagues.

Gordon Finlayson

NE Scotland Regional Representative and Divisional Representative for Scotland and Northern Ireland

I have worked at Boots for a total of 20 years, in which time I have seen many changes both within the company and the profession as a whole. I have been a regional committee member and trade union representative for the PDAU for 3 years and seen firsthand the excellent work they do in representing the interests of individual pharmacists. With the experience I have gained I look forward to helping build a more positive, constructive relationship between Boots and its pharmacists. I am proud to be both a Regional and Divisional PDAU representative at Boots.

Daniela Rusalim

East of England Regional Representative

I am delighted to represent and defend my colleagues in the East of England Region. I have been employed by Boots for over 10 years which has given me a wide breadth of personal and professional experience. As your PDAU representative I am committed to ensure our profession remains relevant, pharmacists take the lead in shaping the agenda and as a result pharmacy at  Boots develops and thrives.

Tom Graves

Regional Representative for Merseyside and West Midlands

I’m a pharmacist in a busy health centre and also a new dad so appreciate the everyday pressures my colleagues experience. As a new PDAU Regional representative I look forward to supporting my fellow pharmacists honestly and independently.

Peter Williams

South West Regional Representative

Having been a pharmacist for almost 20 years, and weekend staff for a while before that, I’ve worked for Boots collectively for 15 years, with a stint in the middle for various Supermarket multiples. I’m an Independent Prescriber and Manager in a small, but very busy, services led store where I’ve experienced first hand the pressures that make pharmacy a very different world to what it was when I began. I am a long term PDA member and I’m excited to take on the new Regional PDAU role to help those that I represent have a clearly heard voice within the company and to not be afraid to stand up.
