PDA members within LloydsPharmacy are increasingly concerned by and struggling with the challenges and issues arising from the implementation and use of the new LS Retail dispensary system. Some members have informed the PDA that they feel their concerns are not being listened to or acted upon by the employer and that the continuing issues with LS Retail are impacting on them being able to deliver pharmacy services.
Despite numerous attempts to engage with LloydsPharmacy and repeated offers of support to improve the situation, PDA representatives who work within LloydsPharmacy are now publicly asking the employer to work with them to address their biggest concerns around patient safety, low morale for pharmacists and support staff, and the mental health and wellbeing of employees.
The PDA is now being contacted daily by members experiencing LS Retail system issues and supports all LloydsPharmacy pharmacists in their commitment that patient safety must always come first.
As the “Responsible Pharmacist (RP)”, it is the pharmacist in each branch that is accountable for patient safety, and decisions around this are their responsibility. The PDA advises any member who needs assistance to contact the PDA Service Centre.
