Here at the PDA, we are seeing daily what a huge strain the COVID-19 pandemic is placing on our members.
We are receiving numerous advice-lines linked in some way to the crisis, whether it be inexperienced pharmacists (and even students) being approached to take on inappropriate clinical areas of work, lack of PPE or locums being threatened with referral to the GPhC by employers not wanting to pay reasonable rates.
We are regularly meeting with senior pharmacy organisations and the DHSC and want to provide a conduit for feeding back concerns and suggestions from the front line in all pharmacy sectors.
We also want our website to act as a repository for examples of good practice, and an early warning system for identifying unacceptable practice.
We plan to devise a short online form to make contacting us easier, but in the interim, we are setting up a dedicated email inbox for all things COVID-19 related:
- Queries
- Concerns to feedback to the centre
- Showcasing good practice
- Suggestions to improve response
- Exposing poor practice
We will use the information to provide regular bulletins and start to build our COVID19 library.
If you have burning issues, serious concerns or have seen excellent innovative practice related to the COVID-19 pandemic in any pharmacy sector, let us know by emailing us at: COVID19@the-pda.org
Please include your nation, sector and the specific issue in the subject line of the email.
