PDA to attend Clinical Pharmacy Congress 2024

This year, the PDA will be running two new sessions at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress (CPC). The sessions, titled ‘Stopping racism at the front line of pharmacy’ and ‘How to improve your T&Cs and protect your interests while working in GP practice’, have been designed to share knowledge and improve the working lives of pharmacists.

Sat 13th April 2024 The PDA

The two-day event is the largest annual gathering of pharmacy professionals in Europe. The conference, which is taking place this year at ExCeL London on 10 – 11 May, offers pharmacists the opportunity to hear key national updates regarding the future of the industry and connect with other professionals.

Attendees will be able to hear from over 250 speakers and network with over 100 industry-leading exhibitors. The PDA will be hosting its own sessions this year.

The PDA’s first session, ‘Stopping racism at the front line of pharmacy’, is a panel event where members of the PDA BAME Network will discuss key trends in racism in pharmacy and how employers should challenge and address this racism. Delegates at CPC will also learn how to utilise resources such as the PDA Anti-Racist Pharmacy Toolkit.

The second PDA session at CPC, titled ‘How to improve your T&Cs and protect your interests while working in GP practice’ will cover the PDA’s activity within GP practice. PDA Director of Membership and Communities, Paul Day and PDA National Officer, Una O’Farrell will discuss how members are acting together to promote the voice of pharmacists in the sector, tackle inequality, ensure safe workplaces, and progress their careers while demanding fair work and reward. Attendees will also learn how they can also come together to improve their own working environment.

The PDA is able to offer its members a complimentary event pass to the conference. PDA members can access the free pass worth £599 here.
