Education

The PDA will lead and support initiatives designed to improve the knowledge and skills of pharmacists, particularly in managing risk and safe practice.

Education and training

An important priority for PDA is to facilitate the development of members who wish to raise their personal status and that of the profession within their own area of influence or working environment.

We will constantly aim to provide you with the necessary tools to support your continuing professional development (CPD).

We will do this by:
  • Arranging conferences designed to deal with the relevant issues, which will be addressed by the leading authorities on the chosen subject. The conferences will either be arranged by the PDA or will be arranged in conjunction with other organisations.

  • The PDA will be organising a number of training courses which have been identified as essential training for individual pharmacists who, whilst pursuing current and future roles, have no other access to developing these skills. These courses include: Risk Management, Developing proposals for services, Influencing others, Presentation skills, Negotiation skills, Employment rights.

  • We will continue to develop more courses as demand dictates.

  • Providing you with details of a library of publications that are available and which focus on risk management, employment issues and legal, ethical and professional issues.

  • Linking you with other relevant websites.
