• PDA Equalities Council celebrates the year’s successes

  The Equalities Council is part of the PDA’s democratic structure and includes representatives of the PDA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Networks. The aim is for members to learn from each other and to work together around intersectional issues.

  President of the PDA NAWP Network, Ayah Abbass, and co-opted member of the PDA NAWP Network, Nicola Rees recently attended the 17th European Women’s Pharmacy Meeting (EWPM), held in Maastricht in the Netherlands. Here Ayah and Nicola share their experience of representing the PDA NAWP Network at the annual meeting.

• NAWP Spotlight launches to celebrate World Menopause Day

  Today (Wednesday 18 October) is World Menopause Day, which aims to raise awareness of menopause and the support options available. To celebrate World Menopause Day, the PDA NAWP Network are launching the first NAWP Spotlight, which allows members to share their personal experiences of the issues that matter and how these issues impact them at work. 

• Breast Cancer Awareness Month Member Voice – ‘I found a lump!’

  To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this October President of the PDA NAWP Network, Ayah Abbass shares her personal experience of one of the scariest moments in her life - finding a lump in her breast. Ayah also offers advice to those in a similar situation. 

• PDA launches EDI Network flyers to celebrate inclusion and create inclusive workplaces

  The PDA is celebrating National Inclusion Week by launching new flyers for each of its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Networks. The pharmacy networks work to promote more inclusive working environments. 

• Tribute to Mrs Peggy Baker: 1932 – 2023

• Tribute to Mrs Pat Hoare (nee Willday) FRPharmS: 1945 – 2023
