PDA support the global #Pharmacyheroes campaign

As a leading member of the Employed Pharmacists of the European Union (EPhEU), earlier this month, the PDA was pleased to support the international campaign to raise the profile of pharmacists fighting against the spread of COVID-19. The campaign shows a worldwide community of pharmacists who, in the face of a pandemic, regardless of danger and their own situation, have faced the fight against COVID-19 all over the world, while significantly relieving the healthcare system.

PDA urge the government and NHS to protect the BAME community and keep workers safe

After the ONS (Office of National Statistics) confirmed that people that are Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) are more likely to suffer a coronavirus (COVID-19) related death, the PDA has urged the NHS and the government to develops plans to mitigate risk in order to keep all pharmacy workers safe. Read more

COVID around the world – snapshots of the COVID-19 response

The PDA policy team have been gathering information about some of the effects of COVID-19. The document provides an overview of our findings related to community pharmacy, together with a table listing some statistics, general measures, testing approach and more detailed pharmacy measures by country. This is by no means a comprehensive list as more than 210 countries and territories were affected at the time of writing this article (9 May 2020).

Community Pharmacy Trade Unions call on the government to facilitate talks on workplace safety

The PDA and Usdaw (Union of shop, Distributive and allied workers) have written a joint letter to Health & Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock, calling on him to facilitate tripartite discussion between government, community pharmacy employer representatives and the trade unions to agree safe working practices across the sector.

The Health Campaigns together online clothing store sells a variety of support the NHS organic cotton clothing which is printed in a renewable energy powered factory in the UK. Health Campaigns Together is an initiative to enable many of the NHS campaigns that have been formed to liaise together, share experiences and lessons, and where possible work together on issues of common concern.
