PDA supports citizen group petition to save community pharmacies from closure

The PDA have added their support to a petition organised by Grassroots campaigning organisation, 38 Degrees, that calls on the Westminster government to recompense pharmacies for the extra costs they have incurred by staying open to provide health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

High court legal victory strengthens health and safety rights for locum pharmacists

The PDA Union is hearing from employed pharmacists at several multiples who have been instructed by their employers to turn off the NHS COVID-19 test and trace app when at work and worryingly some pharmacists are being told to refuse to ‘self-isolate’ if contacted by track and trace in respect of a colleague who has tested positive. This is also a significant concern for locum members who may be working in these multiples’ pharmacies.

PDA secure over £50,000 in unpaid locum fees for members this year

Over the years, the PDA has secured hundreds of thousands of pounds of outstanding locum fees for members, but 2019 is proving to be the year with the highest value of unpaid fees to date.
