PDA Representatives are vital to the work of the union and collectively form a community of trained members supporting their colleagues across the UK and in all areas of practise. This is what some PDA Reps had to say following the recent networking session:
Darren Ayres, PDA Regional Rep in Boots said, “It’s always a pleasure to catch up with other representatives of the PDA and we recently had a meeting on Teams to discuss talking to members and how to have ‘organising conversations’ to encourage involvement in the PDA. I found the session very informative and I certainly went away feeling more confident on having conversations with members and potential members. I am very much looking forward to future meetings to catch up with the rep network and to help build a stronger union.”
Lourette Philips, PDA Locum Rep said, “As a new locum rep, it was great to attend the reps’ networking session. I got to meet different members from various sectors of pharmacy. As a locum, I meet many pharmacists from different companies that have a varied knowledge about the PDA. The session gave me tips and tools on how to engage in conversation about the PDA and that they can offer more to members than just insurance! I really enjoy these networking sessions and am looking forward to the next one already.”
Abdo Mahrous, PDA Trainee Rep said, “It was a fantastic opportunity being part of the reps’ networking session as it was my first time meeting representatives from across the country. The event was very well organised and there was plenty of scope to ask questions and to understand what the PDA is currently working on. Many thanks to PDA staff for organising this event!”
PDA members who are interested in getting involved and making a difference in the workplace, with employers, and in the pharmacy sector, are encouraged to get in touch with the PDA today.
