The awards are a way to recognise and celebrate the dedication and extraordinary work of pharmacists from diverse disciplines, and the PDA is pleased to have sponsored the Student Leadership category of the awards once again.
Each year, the PDA sponsors the Student Leadership category of the Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Irish Pharmacy Awards to celebrate the successes of future professionals. This year’s winner was Caitlin Edwards from Cardiff University.

The event was once again hosted at the Vale Resort, Glamorgan, and had a turnout of 300-plus industry experts and students, who gathered to celebrate the 11 winners for various categories.
In the closing moments of the awards evening, the 2023 Special Recognition Award was presented to Berwyn Owen, Chief Pharmacist at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Berwyn was awarded for his passionate and impactful pursuit of professional improvement over the years.
All the winners will be featured in Welsh Pharmacy Review and all images can be viewed here.
The event was also successful in raising funds for this year’s nominated charity, Pharmacist Support. This is the profession’s independent charity that provides a wide range of support services to pharmacists and their families, pharmacy students, and former pharmacists in Great Britain.
