It’s time to kill off the Remote Supervision concept

At the PDA, we seek professionally fulfilling and sustainable roles for our members, we want patients to see a wider range of services being delivered by community pharmacists in community pharmacies; at the very heart of primary care. We want to see pharmacists developing more comprehensive clinical relationships with their patients. We believe that we have several draft proposals on changes to supervision that would enable all these things, a plan which does not involve a pharmacy operating in the absence of a pharmacist.

PDA welcomes GPhC action plan to improve Fitness to Practise processes

The PDA welcomes the action plan published by the GPhC to improve their handling of its fitness to practise processes after an audit conducted by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) identified that 4 out of 10 fitness to practise standards were not met.

Latest statement from the Joint Consultative Committee at Boots

The PDA Union and Boots have published the latest statement from their Joint Consultative Committee (JCC). The JCC brings together PDAU representatives from across the company to discuss matters of interest with senior company representatives and operates alongside the Joint Negotiating Body (JNB) where pay and other matters are negotiated between the two parties.

PDA announce Regional Committee By-Election Results

PDA members around the UK have been voting to elect new members to their Regional Committees as part of the by-election process, voting closed at 5 pm on Friday 7 February 2020. The independent scrutineer from UK Engage has verified the results and we can now announce the committee members.
