Guidance on booking Covid-19 booster vaccinations

The Covid-19 booster vaccine is necessary to help improve the protection from the first 2 doses of the vaccine. It can help give longer-term protection against developing serious illness from Covid-19.

We have ensured that arrangements were put in place for locum pharmacists, as well as those employed in any area of practice, to arrange the initial vaccinations in each of the four UK nations. At the start of the pandemic, we also made a personalised digital ID card available to help members confirm their healthcare worker status during the Covid-19 crisis and this remains available if needed.

PDA members can access their personalised digital ID cards here

The findings will help us to understand the current working environment for pharmacists and could really help to change things for the better.

PDA Union is delivering pay increases for pharmacists

transferred to NHS trust organisations

The PDA Union has concluded further pay negotiations, securing pay increases for members at hospital outpatient pharmacies that previously had their employment transferred from Boots.

The PDA Union uses the Transfer of Undertakings and Protection of Employment (TUPE) legislation to ensure that new employers honor the previous Boots arrangements to negotiate on a pay review in November 2020. The union’s strategy also brought forward members’ next increase to be effective from April 2021 to align them with the annual NHS pay round.
